Decent gi, embroidery delay

I ordered a Master Grade karate gi with chest embroidery. The gi itself is excellent, really good material. Shipping was free which was a plus. My only minor gripe was the custom embroidery took a bit longer than I expected, added a few extra days to the delivery to California. Customer service was helpful when I inquired, though.

Awesome Yakudo gi!

Just received my Yakudo karate gi and I absolutely love it! The fabric feels amazing and it fits perfectly. I've wanted a Tokaido gi for ages and this one did not disappoint. The order process was straightforward and it arrived in about a week. I'm definitely going to get another one when I need it, maybe a Kumite uniform next. Highly recommend their gear!

If it's not customized, you should be fine. I returned a gi jacket once because the size was off, and it was pretty straightforward.

Yeah, as long as there's no custom embroidery, unpersonalized items like a plain black belt should be returnable. Check their policy though, just in case they have a short window.

From my experience, the custom stuff takes a bit longer. I ordered a belt with embroidery last year, and it added about 2-3 weeks to the processing time. So plan for that.

Yeah, what the other person said. They gotta do the actual stitching, so it's not like it ships out next day. I think it was around 10-15 business days for mine before it even shipped.

How do these compare to Arawaza gis? Looking for a new kata uniform, used Arawaza forever but thinking of trying Tokaido.

Tokaido is the OG, man. Arawaza is good, but Tokaido's quality feels a step above, especially their heavyweight kata gis. You'll notice the difference in the snap and feel.

I've worn both. Arawaza is solid, but Tokaido just has that traditional, crisp feel that's hard to beat for kata. It's heavier and feels more substantial.

They totally ship from Japan! That's why it sometimes takes a bit longer, but it's worth it for the real deal. Expect about a week to ten days for delivery to the west coast, depending on customs.

Some of them definitely are. You gotta check the specific uniform description though. I know their Kumite ones usually are, but not all of them.

Yeah, they have WKF approved ones. Look for the little WKF logo in the product details. It'll say if it's good to go.
